ASIF RAHMATULLAH

Mr. Asif Rahmatullah is a qualified Barrister from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK and an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He is highly prominent to his clients for his diverse knowledge on national and international laws and his meticulous and resolute approaches in advising and advocating for them. Mr. Rahmatullah has a prolific span at litigation and corporate legal practice where he advised many leading corporate houses in

Bangladesh and foreign investors from all over the world. As a corporate practitioner, he holds an ample record of experience in banking, syndication, telecommunication, project financing, securitization, incorporation of joint- ventures and other companies and advising national and multinational companies on regulatory and compliance issues. Mr. Rahmatullah is an integral part of the firm’s litigation team with first-hand experience in representing clients in the Civil, Criminal and Labour Courts of the Land. Likewise, he is also remarkably dominant in advising and advocating on labour and employment matters and has previously provided his legal expertise for many Foreign Embassies, High Commissions, Governmental organizations, Non- Governmental organizations (NGOs), Foundations, Development Organizations, International Organizations, Multinational companies, National and International Alliances, Banks, local public and private limited companies, factories in the Ready Made Garments (RMG) Sector, etc. Mr. Rahmatullah on many occasions has closely worked with the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments under the Ministry of Labour and Employment on various governmental projects for sustainable growth in the RMG sector. He even regularly conducts trainings and workshops on employment matters for different organizations and trade unions. Mr. Rahmatullah has advised and worked for various organizations like Ethical Trade Initiatives (ETI), a leading alliance of companies, trade unions and NGOs that promotes respect for workers’ rights around the globe, and helped them design, formulate and implement their ‘Social Dialogue Progamme’ in the garments industry of Bangladesh. He has also regularly advised the Stitching Bangladesh Accord Foundation and helped them implement their Corrective Action Plans in the garments industry. Besides his practice as a prominent lawyer, he is also the Managing Partner and the Director of International Relations of one of the reputed law schools in Bangladesh, namely, London College of Legal Studies (North).
